Donations of Books, Audiobooks, DVDs, and Music
Mesa Public Library gratefully accepts donations of books, magazines, movies, and music. Your donation may go to an organization in need, join the library collection, or be sold to support the library.
Our team of experienced and trained volunteers sort, research, organize, and sell donated items at our used book stores or through our Amazon.com storefront. One hundred percent of the proceeds stay with the library to support programs and services.
Donations can be made at any of our locations, but due to space constraints we're only able to accept a limited amount of donations at our branches. If you have more than four (4) medium boxes to donate, please drop it off at the Main Library at 64 E. First Street. We're also happy to help coordinate bulk donations of four (4) or more boxes. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Janice Dell at 480-644-4638 to arrange a drop-off time.
We have curbside drop off events at the Main Library twice a year. Simply add our next Donate Day to your calendar, drive up and we’ll unload your donation.
The next Donate Day is scheduled for: October 20, 2018, 9:00a.m. to Noon
Our Donations to You!
The Mesa Public Library donates library materials to local nonprofits. If you’re interested in receiving former library items, please:
Send us a letter (or email us) on your official organization letterhead (or from your official work email) describing what items you’re requesting (be specific – Adult fiction, Children’s books K-6…), approximately how many items you’d like donated, what you will use them for, and a contact name, number and email.
Once we receive your letter or email, we’ll reach out to you and let you know what we can donate.
If you’re looking for magazine donations for art projects, please email Janice.Dell@MesaAZ.gov directly with your request.
