Learn the basics of flying at THINKspot

Have you ever thought about a career in aviation? Students 12 and older can learn the basics about aviation at the Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Rd. This four-week hands-on series will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Participants will learn about historic, present, and future elements that affect the aviation industry and basic aerodynamics. This workshop is held at THINKspot every Tuesday through Nov. 24 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Weekly topics include:
Week 1: Aviation history and how lift is created. Design an airfoil you will build during weeks 2 and 3.
Week 2: Current aviation designs. Begin building your airfoil.
Week 3: Emerging aviation technologies. Finish building your airfoil.
Week 4: Aviation careers and pathways. Test your airfoil in a wind tunnel.
