Celebrate Shakespeare at Mesa Library

In celebration of Shakespeare’s First Folio visiting Arizona, Mesa Public Library is offering Shakespeare-related programming throughout February and March. Whether you’re planning to visit the First Folio at the University of Arizona in Tucson or not, we think you’ll love these programs honoring the bard!

Celebrate Shakespeare with the following events:

• She Surprised Shakespeare Murder Mystery Play. Who-dun-it mystery?
Feb. 12, 2016 | 5 p.m. | Red Mountain Branch | 635 N. Power Road.

• First Folio Teacher Training – Provided by the Folger Library. Teacher training streamed from University of Arizona for interested teachers in the Mesa area. Feb. 20, 2016 | 8:30 a.m. | Registration Required | Main Library | 64 E. 1st St.

• 15 Second Shakespeare! Create a 15 second clip reciting Shakespeare lyrics using studio equipment.
March 14, 2016 | 4 p.m. | THINKspot | Red Mountain | 635 N. Power Road.

• Unleash Your Inner Bard. There will be open poetry writing sessions, complete with prompts for those with writers block.

• Shakespeare Live! With the AZ Renaissance Festival Players. Join the AZ Renaissance Festival celebrating Shakespeare’s Sonnets and Soliloquies.

You can also visit the First Folio, the book that gave us Shakespeare, Feb. 15 – March 15 at the University of Arizona, as part of their tour to Tucson.
