One month left of summer reading at Mesa Library

Post Date:07/07/2015 1:38 PM

Mesa Library’s Summer Reading Program is still going strong.  Youth and adults can still sign up and receive some great prizes and be entered for a chance to win a new Kindle HD tablet.

“Usually about this time of the year people get busy with summer plans and might think it’s too late to sign up,” Mesa Librarian, Sandy Rizzo said. “But in fact, we still have a full month of great programs, events, classes, and prizes.”

The library features daily programs. Some great programs in July include:

  • “Meet the Prehistoric Paleo Heroes!”- July 13 at 2 p.m.- 3 p.m. at Dobson Ranch and July, 15 at 2 p.m.- 3 p.m. at Main Library
  • “Puppets, Heroes of Your Imagination”- July, 15 at 2 p.m-3 p.m. at Mesa Express Library
  • “Real Life Superpowers: How to Be a Superhero” using self-defense - (for adults) on July, 18 at 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Red Mountain Library

Participants can earn terrific reading prizes like food, a free new book, and a Reading Superhero window cling.  Weekly drawings add to the summer fun, including a chance to win one of four Kindle HD6 tablets for those who log up to 1,000 points.

The Summer Reading Program is available at all branches of the Mesa Public Library and will run through Aug 1.  You can also tap into the Library’s digital collection with ebooks, audiobooks, movies, and music collections for tablets and other devices, available 24/7.

Reading for 20-minutes a day fosters the good habit of reading and decreases summer learning loss.  So fly into a Mesa Library and join this year’s Summer Reading Program!  See the online events calendar at www.MesaLibrary.org  and sign up for summer reading at http://www.mesalibrary.org/summerreading/
