Raising Backyard Chickens at Mesa Library
Meet Permaculturist Rachel Bess and attend her free workshop about keeping chickens in your backyard. The workshop will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library, 64 E. First St., in the Saguaro Room.
Chickens make great pets, efficient bug and weed eaters, and excellent soil tillers—not to mention they provide fresh eggs! Participants will learn how to successfully raise and keep urban chickens in the desert.
Permaculture, or “permanent culture,” is the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient and focuses on ethics and design principles.
This workshop is free and open to the public. For more information please visit: www.MesaLibrary.org or call (480) 644-3100.
